National Model United Nations The National Model United Nations in New York (NMUN) constitutes a special Core Elective of the Major in International Affairs. The National Model United Nations (NMUN) is the world’s biggest UN simulation. Every year it unites more than 4500 students from universities all over the globe. At the conference, the procedures of a UN organ – from opening ceremony to the adoption of resolutions – are simulated as realistically as possible. Participation in the preparatory NMUN seminar, which is open to all Bachelor students, is subject to a special selection process that takes place every May and June. NMUN 2017 This year 24 Bachelor students from a variety of fields joined the NMUN delegation. The Final Report is available to download, and more information can be found on the NMUN website. NMUN 2016 20 Bachelor students represented Afghanistan at the NMUN New York and successfully negotiated delicate deals that greatly affected their country. They captured their experience in a short video. NMUN 2015 The HSG delegation successfully participated in the National Model United Nations Conference. Our students represented the delegation of Peru and won an award for their Position Paper. Far from it – and the fact that Caribbean island states do not only have a reputation for the cultivation of spices but are able to play a lead role in multilateral diplomacy as well, was proven by our committed and very successful HSG delegation. The 14 HSG delegates were awarded with an Honourable Mention and several Position Papers awards. NMUN 2011 Once more, the HSG delegation was pleased to receive two awards for representing Sudan at the NMUN 2011.
